Based on the previous blog and obtaining all new information, it has been decided to no longer focus on (vegan) meat, but on 3D printing in restaurants.
At the moment, there aren't many restaurants in the Netherlands that use 3D-printing of food. However, there are a few initiatives and experiments going on worth investigating if this technology can be the solution.
ByFlow: This is a Dutch company that makes 3D-printers for the food industry. They have collaborated with different restaurants and culinary events to demonstrate 3D-printed food.
Bistro in Vitro: This is a fictional restaurant for Next Nature network, a Dutch research collective. The restaurant concept revolves around cultured meat and other innovative food technologies, including 3D printing of food. The restaurant itself is not real, but prototypes of 3D-printed food have been developed.
Food ink: This is a company that organizes pop-up restaurants worldwide that use 3D-priting of food. In 2016 there was a Food Ink event in Amsterdam.
The menu at Food Ink varies depending on the location and availability of ingredients, but the company generally offers a multi-course menu with dishes made using 3D printers. The menu may include 3D-printed pizzas, pasta, chocolates, desserts, and cocktails.
The idea behind Food Ink is to showcase the possibilities of 3D-printing of food and to stimulate the creativity of chefs and cooks through this innovative technology.
